To provide an unleaded high octane number gasoline excellent in startability and operability and cleaning properties of intake valves of automobiles in consideration of the air environment.
The unleaded high octane number gasoline contains 1-25 vol% of ethyl t-butyl ether and has (1) a research octane number of 97-105, (2) a motor octane number of 84-92, (3) a Reid vapor pressure of 45-93 kPa, (4) a 50% distillation temperature of 75-110°C, (5) a 130°C distillation amount of 68-92 vol%, (6) an aromatics content of at most 45 vol%, (7) an olefin content of at most 25 vol%, (8) a benzene content of at most 1 vol%, (9) a sulfur content of at most 10 mass ppm, (10) a gas-liquid ratio (V/L) at 60°C of 30-70, and (11) a polycyclic aromatics index Y of at most 6.
