PURPOSE: To make it unnecessary to allow a center staff or a maintenance man to reside in a monitoring center by allowing the maintenance man to read out information data stored in a center device and to process a failure in accordance with the read data.

CONSTITUTION: When a failure occurs in an installed apparatus, the failure is detected by a terminal equipment 2 and its information data are informed from the equipment 2 to a receiving equipment 11. At the time of receiving the failure data from the equipment 11, a processor 14 stores the data in a data storage device 16. Then the processor 14 extracts the calling number of a pocket bell 4 carried by a corresponding maintenance man 3 from a calling number storage device 15 and transfers the extracted number to a calling equipment 13. The equipment 13 sends the transferred calling number to an originating station 6. The station 6 actuates the bell 4. When the bell 4 is actuated, the maintenance man 3 requests data transfer from a portable terminal equipment 5 to a data transfer equipment 12. The processor 14 extracts the information data from the device 16 and transfers the data to be equipment 12. The equipment 12 transfers the received data to an equipment 5. Consequently, the maintenance man can execute processing corresponding to the failure.
