To provide an up-and-down moving device for a vehicle, which is formed low in the stored condition, in a simple structure, in good appearance and possible to move between the elongated condition and the stored condition with a simple driver.

A platform 50 is connected to a link base 10 slidable along a rail 5 set up on a floor 3 via a double link mechanism 20 formed from two pairs of four-joint parallel links and a chain 31 for a chain mechanism 30 is connected to the platform via a sprocket 13 for the link base. A driving sprocket 33 is rotated by a rotation driver 39 to drive the chain to pull up the platform 50 at first. In the meantime, the platform is kept in horizontal attitude by the parallel link. Then, the link base 10 is pulled into a room along the rail together with the platform.
