PURPOSE: To shorten the preserve processing time of information in a data base by providing a file wherein which information in the data base is updated is recorded when the information is updated and utilizing the information update record in the file.

CONSTITUTION: This update information preserve system has the data base 1 stored with information, a bit map 2 consisting of bits corresponding to update units of information in the data base 1 one to one, a preserve file 3 preserved with the information in the data base 1, and a start device 4 which controls the whole update information preserve system. Then when the information in the data base 1 is updated, a bit which is the address of information A-1 are turned ON in the bit map 2 (steps S1 and S2). Then the bits in the bit map 2 are referred to from the start device 4 (step S3) and the address whose bit are turned ON is stored (A-1); and the updated information in the data base 1 is accessed (step S4) and written and preserved in the preserve place of the information A-1 of the preserve file 3.
