To provide an upper structure of a vehicle body capable of sufficiently ensuring the roof rigidity during a rollover or a turnover with a simple structure.
An upper end of a first pillar 3A on the left side is connected to an upper end of a second pillar 4B on the right side via a first reinforcing frame 10 curved backward of the left side of a vehicle. An upper end of a first pillar 3B on the right side is connected to an upper end of a second pillar 4A on the left side via a second reinforcing frame 11 curved backward of the right side of the vehicle. A rigidity adjustment means 20 in which the absolute value of the first moment M1 generated in an intersection-joined part 12 by the forward load F1 input in a first pillar connection part of a roof R is set to be substantially equal to the absolute value of the second moment M2 generated in the intersection-joined part 12 by the sidewise load F2 input in a second pillar connection part of the roof R is provided on the first reinforcing frame 10 and the second reinforcing frame 11. Thus, the moments M1, M2 input in the intersection-joined part 12 are canceled and an upper part of a vehicle body can be reinforced without considerably increasing the weight of the vehicle body.
