PURPOSE: To prevent a yarn in excessive portion from being stored around a kettle by turning OFF the second upper yarn holding device after the necessary quantity of yarn is driven out by an upper yarn driving-out mechanism and after the kettle is set at a kettle riding-over position.

CONSTITUTION: When a yarn cut signal is transmitted, the first solenoid driving circuit 16 is turned OFF, and yarn drive-out control is carried out, and at the same time, a kettle riding-over timer is operated, and also after the yarn cut signal is transmitted, the second solenoid driving circuit 17 is kept in turned-ON state up to the time when a kettle passes through a kettle riding-over position. Therefore, an upper yarn in excessive portion is prevented from being pulled into the kettle.
