To provide an upright type vacuum cleaner in which a suction hose can be easily detached and preventing the suction hose from falling off when a vacuum cleaner body is operated in an obliquely inclined state.
The upright type vacuum cleaner includes a dust collection chamber 2; a suction hose holding body 5 arranged in the vacuum cleaner body 1 having a handle body 7 on the upper part thereof for movement and a nozzle body 4 on the lower part thereof, and holding a part less than a half of the circumference of a suction hose 3 guiding dust from the suction nozzle body 4 to the dust collection chamber 2; and a code hook 8 winding and locking a power code 6 wherein one end thereof is held rotatably to the handle body 7 for movement in the location separated from the suction hose holding body 5 by equal to or longer than the diameter of the suction hose 3, and the other end thereof has a projecting part 10. When the projecting part 10 is rotated downwardly, the size of an opening between the projecting part 10 and the leading end of the holding body 5 is equal to or shorter than the diameter of the suction hose 3, thereby facilitating the attachment and detachment of the suction hose 3 from the suction hose holding body 5 and preventing the suction hose 3 from falling off from the suction hose holding body 5 when turning the projecting part 10 downwardly.
