Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve joining of upset butt welding and to reduce crack of joining part by making the end face shape of gap shear cutting of high strength hot rolled steel plate to the specified rollover rate/rollover rate difference in the width direction.
CONSTITUTION: A high strength hot rolled steel plate of ≥490MPa tensile strength is subjected to gap shear cutting, the end face of obtained rim stock is subjected to upset butt welding, a disk wheel rim for vehicle is obtained through trimming, forming. At this time, the rollover rate of joining shape of the rim stock 4 (=a/t×100) is made to 15-30%, further, the drooping rate difference in the rim width direction is made to ≤5%. wherein (a) is rollover height, (t) is plate thickness. By bonding by use of the rim stock 4, an electric current density at upset butt welding is increased, there is not secondary breakage of cut cross section, contact area is uniformized, as a result, the bondability is improved.
