Abstract:
PURPOSE: To lower the concn. of the turbid matter in the treated water obtd. in an initial period when a filtration state is restarted after ending of a washing stage.
CONSTITUTION: This upward current filtration method comprises providing a treating vessel 1 with a filter layer 3 by floating filter media therein, passing raw water through this filter layer in upward current to execute a filtering stage and passing washing water through the filter layer in downward current to execute the washing stage. This treating vessel is provided with a circulating pipe 9 for supplying and circulating the water on the filter layer to the bottom of the vessel. The filtering stage is executed by circulating water in the treating vessel with this circulating pipe after washing, passing water in the upward current to the filter layer for a prescribed period of time, then passing raw water in the upward current.
