PURPOSE: To prevent the reverse feed of sediment by applying the constitution that a sediment stopper shutter for preventing the fall of the sediment is laid above the uppermost stroke position of a sediment push-up piston laid within a transfer casing, so as to be freely opened and closed.
CONSTITUTION: Sediment, when supplied to a hopper 5, falls into a sediment feed casing 4, and a part thereof enters a sediment casing 1. Then, a hydraulic cylinder 7 is operated to advance a sediment feed piston 6 to a sediment feed port 3, and the sediment as the first transfer sediment is thereby fed to a position below a shutter plate 14 in the casing 1. Thereafter, the shutter plate 14 is made to retreat on the operation of a hydraulic cylinder 16 and, then, a sediment push-up piston 9 is raised to a level above the port 3 on the operation of a hydraulic cylinder 10, thereby feeding forcibly the first transfer sediment upward. Furthermore, the shutter plate 14 is projected to the lower end section of the first transfer sediment, and the piston 6 is made to retreat. As a result, the sediment in the hopper 5 is again thrown into the casing 4. Similar processes are repeated to forcibly feed the first, second and succeeding sediment sequentially upward.
