To provide a urethane coating composition capable of securing properties of a cured coating film such as scratch resistance and abrasion resistance even under the conditions of vehicle exterior parts or the like used for a long time in the open air.
The urethane coating composition comprises a low molecular polyol (a), a cellulose acetate butylate (b), silica particles (c), and a polyisocyanate (d). The low molecular polyol (a) has at least two hydroxyl groups per molecule and has a molecular weight of 60-500 and a hydroxyl value of 500-2,000 mgKOH/g. The urethane coating composition comprises, with respect to the total weight of the components (a) to (d), 0.5-30 wt.% of the low molecular polyol (a), 0.5-20 wt.% of an acrylic polyol (b), 20-70 wt.% of the silica particles (c), and the polyisocyanate (d) is blended in a proportion such that the equivalent ratio of NCO/(total OH of (cellulose acetate butylate (b))+(low molecular polyol (a))) is 0.5-2.0.
