Abstract:
To provide a method for treating urine, by which the phosphorus compound and nitrogen compound contained in urine can be suitably treated at a low cost.
A urea decomposing enzyme like urease is added to urine (the water to be treated), which is then left as it is to form a phosphorus-containing insoluble precipitate. A flocculant is furthermore added to precipitate-removed supernatant urine to form another phosphorus-containing insoluble precipitate and the nitrogen compound and phosphorus compound in precipitate-removed supernatant urine are treated by an electrochemical technique. When excrement is mixed in urine in order to add urease, excrement is mixed so that the pH of urine is ≥7.5.
