Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a cinerary urn having useful characteristics such as air- tightness and salt-protection with clay figure externals in which different images according to religion can be selected or which can be made as a model of an ancestor. CONSTITUTION: A cinerary urn consists of an urn lid 1 with a clay figure leaving an aperture at a bottom part and an urn body 5 which can be engaged with the bottom part of the urn lid 1. A dried material is positioned in a hollow part of the inner top wall of the urn lid 1. Then a bonding unit of the urn lid 1 and a bonding unit of the urn body 2 are bonded integrally, thereby air- tightness and salt-protection can be attained. Air tightness and salt-protection effects are further reinforced by a salt protecting washer fixed on the upper part of the urn body 2. A clay figure formed by the urn lid 1 and the urn body 2 can be selected such as different god images according to respective religions. Furthermore, an image of an ancestor can be inlayed, or the clay image itself can be made as the ancestor form.
