To provide usage of an apparatus for fracturing/recovering a metal catalyst, in which metal catalyst-containing powder is recovered from the body to be treated.
The apparatus for fracturing/recovering the metal catalyst is provided with: a vessel 1a into which the body 6 to be treated, which consists of a metal catalyst-deposited carrier (a metallic carrier 7a) or a catalytic converter 7b with the carrier (the metallic carrier 7a) packed in the metallic cylinder, is charged; an impact blade 1n which is rotated in the vessel 1a and by which the body 6 to be treated is impact-fractured into fragments each having the size capable of falling by its own weight and the metal catalyst-containing powder 30 is separated from the body 6 to be treated; a suspending means for suspending the separated powder 30 higher upward in the vessel 1a; and a dust collector 2 for sucking/recovering the powder 30 suspended in the vessel 1a. This usage of the apparatus for fracturing/recovering the metal catalyst comprises the steps of monitoring fluctuations of the torque of the impact blade 1n and controlling the impact blade by a feedback system so that the rotational speed of the impact blade 1n is made constant.
