To provide a technique to automatically turn on the power of a TV by swiftly detecting a USB device inserted into a USB terminal of the TV in standby mode of the TV without any special response of the inserted USB device or a complicated system modification on the TV.
In a standby mode, when a USB device 90 is inserted into a USB interface section 62, a Vbus terminal 63 is grounded via the USB device 90. Then, a current flows on a backup power line L2; a potential difference is generated between a base and an emitter of a transistor 74; the transistor 74 turns on; a current flows between the emitter and a collector; and the current flows to the ground via a second resistance R2. As a result, a potential difference is generated between a collector side output A of the transistor 74 and the ground. A main control section 21 obtains the voltage change. By obtaining the voltage change, the main control section 21 turns on the main power.
