Abstract:

To provide a crosslinked organic particle and its manufacturing method, and a recording medium which is obtained by using the crosslinked organic particle, is excellent in ink absorbability, and gives high image concentration and its manufacturing method.

The crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol resin particle is obtained by hydrolyzing the vinyl ester residue of a crosslinked organic particle that has a particle size of 10 μm or smaller and is obtained by suspension-polymerizing or emulsion-polymerizing a mixture of a vinyl ester, a crosslinking monomer, and a cationic monomer. The recording medium is provided an ink receiving layer on a base material and contains 50 mass% of the crosslinked organic resin particle having a particle size smaller than 1 μm in the ink receiving layer.
