Abstract:
To enhance a barrier function of the skin, by using an agent having β-endorphin-like activity.
Use of at least one compound selected from β-endorphin and a β-endorphin imitative agent on a keratinocyte of the skin in a cosmetic composition for enhancing the barrier function of the skin is provided. Further, the compound is used in a cosmetic composition for enhancing resistance to stress, especially, to pollution. Furthermore, a cosmetic treatment method for enhancing the barrier function and/or moisturizing properties of the skin and/or mucous membranes is provided.
