Abstract:

To provide plant extracts for cosmetic and/or dermatological application which have preventive and curative effect on signs of aging of the skin and develop reactivating and revitalizing activity.

The invention relates to plant extracts of the Cassia alata belonging to plants of genus Cassia of Caesalpiniaceae useful for cosmetic and dermatological application. The extracts preferably contain substances from the group consisting of flavone derivatives, more particularly kaempferol and kaempferol derivatives, tannins, coumarins, anthraquinones and also free phenol acids, more particularly p-hydroxybenzoic acid.
