Abstract:
To provide a method of modulating tolerance and implantation of an embryo on a uterine lining.
The present invention provides a method of modulating maternal tolerance to a fetus by using a cytokine and IL-27 agonist. The invention also provides a method of modulating implantation of an embryo to a uterine lining and a method of diagnosis. In one embodiment, the subject is human and the IL-27 agonist is administered during: (a) first trimester of pregnancy; (b) second trimester of pregnancy; (c) third trimester of pregnancy; or (d) first, second and third trimesters of pregnancy. The IL-27 agonist can be an IL-27 protein, which may be human IL-27.
