Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of lactam amides of the formula I in which n represents 3 to 6, A represents a direct bond or an optionally substituted alkylene bridge, R<1> represents optionally substituted aryl, R<2> represents hydrogen or alkyl and the physiologically acceptable salts thereof with acids as growth promoters in animals. The compounds of the formula I can also exist in the isomeric form of the formula Ia . The invention furthermore relates to novel lactam amides and their preparation.
