Abstract:
To provide a corticosteroid which is therapeutically effective in treating a disease of an airway passage and a lung such as asthma and which also exhibits low bioavailability and low systemic side-effects when it is administered intra-nasally or by oral inhalation.
There is provided an aerosolized drug for initial or maintenance treatment of asthma by administering once-a-day via oral inhalation. The aerosolized drug contains mometasone furoate in the substantial absence of systemic absorption into the bloodstream of mometasone furoate.
