Title:
USE OF POLAR MODIFIED POLYOLEFIN WAX TO IMPROVE ADHESION OF SEALANT TO POWDER COATING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2006152297
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide the use of polyolefin waxes modified such that they avoid a disadvantage of the waxes which is lower, or even entirely negate the adhesion of sealants and allow the adhesion of sealants to be improved, when transitions to other objects or components are frequently sealed using sealants based on a silicone or acrylate in the context of the use of powder-coated parts.

The polar modified polyolefin wax is included in a powder coating material. For example, the polar modified polyolefin wax is prepared by grafting a polyolefin wax with a polar graft comonomer. The polar graft comonomer is preferably an α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acid and/or the derivative thereof and/or an alkoxyvinylsilane.
