To provide use of a synthetic wax oxidation product as a processing aid for a transparent polar polymer.
As a processing aid for a molding compound containing a polar polymer having at least one group selected from an ester group, an amide group, a sulfone group, and an imide group in at least 60% of repeating units, a synthetic wax oxidation product is used which has a number-average molecular weight Mn of 300-1,000 g/mol as measured by elevated temperature GPC according to ASTM D6474-99 and an acid number of 15-60 mgKOH/g as measured according to DIN53402. This remarkably reduces the coefficient of friction without impairing the transparency of the molding compound, resulting in improvement of mold release action and an MFI value. Moreover, this prevents formation of deposits on the surface of a coil, a cylinder, a nozzle, and a mold, and provides an article having excellent surface quality in both appearance and possibility of lamination.
