Title:
USE OF THERAPEUTIC PEPTIDES FOR TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OF CANCER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2015028034
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing, retarding, and reducing risks of initiation, growth and invasion of cancer.SOLUTION: MUC1 (DF3, CD227, episialin, PEM) is a heavily O-glycosylated heterodimeric protein of >300 kDa, normally expressed in a large amount on the apical surface of glandular epithelia. MUC1 mimetic peptides are administered to patients of mammary gland tumors, colon tumors and skin tumors. MUC1 mimetic peptides are fusion peptides of structure A-B-C or C-B-A where A is a protein transduction domain enhancing translocation of attached macromolecules across the cell membranes; B is a spacer of 0-5 amino acid residues; C is a polypeptide of 6-15 amino acid residues, where C comprises all or a portion of PYEKVSAGNGGSSLS(SEQ ID NO:1), and a portion of C comprises GGSSLS(SEQ ID NO:2).
