Abstract:

To utilize the physiological activity action of especially D-allose relating to a rare saccharide and to produce a functional food, pharmaceuticals, etc., utilizing the physiological activity of the rare saccharide.

An intravital antioxidant having D-allose as an active component is used for a tissue preservation liquid or an infusion solution (a transfusion). The intravital antioxidant is contained in an ingesta of a mammal (including a human), a pharmaceutical composition or an external preparation for skin. The pharmaceutical composition is effective for treating or preventing of cranial nerve disease selected from cancer, skin flap necrosis, transient ischemic attack, cerebral apoplexy and traumatic epilepsy, kidney disease selected from acute renal failure and uremia, and ophthalmology disorder selected from retina degeneration disease, retinopathy of prematurity, cataract and eye inflammation.
