Abstract:

PURPOSE: To attain improvement in workability by adding ionic sulphoalkyl cellulose derivatives to gypsum- and cement-containing plasters.

CONSTITUTION: The ionic sulphoalkyl cellulose derivatives, especially, sulphoethyl cellulose derivatives (the mean substitution degree of sulphoethyl group is 0.001 to 0.6, the mean substitution degree of alkyl group or the like is 0.0001 to 2.5, the mean substitution degree of alkali reactive compound is 0.0001 to 5 and the mean polymerization degree of cellulose derivatives is 30 to 4,000), are used as additives for gypsum- and cement-containing compounds so as to improve workability, plasticity, hardening action, adhesiveness, release time, porosity and drooping resistance or the like. In the case of gypsum as a base, the quantity of addition to plaster compounds is 0.05 to 0.5 wt.% to the total quantity in terms of dry compounds and in the case of cement base, it is 0.02 to 0.3 wt.%. In the case of gypsum base, that of fillers for knife coating is 0.1 to 2 wt.% and in the case of cement base, it is 0.1 to 1 wt.%.
