PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve recover rate by continuously separating heavy plastic pieces and light plastic pieces. SOLUTION: An installation 1 for recycling used PET bottles is constituted of a mixing tank 58 in which fragments of the bottles made by means of a crusher and a liquid are mixed and a centrifugal separator in which a mixture B4 is fed into the inside of a hollow rotating shaft from it by means of a pump P and is forwarded from an opening part on the intermediate part of the rotating shaft into a rotating cylinder provided in the surroundings of the shaft and having a tapered part on one end side and the light plastic pieces LP of the center side floating on the liquid to which a centrifugal force is applied and which is held along the inner face of the cylinder are separated from the outlet of the other end part of the rotating shaft by means of a spiral body with a small diameter reaching the intermediate depth of the liquid on the other end side rotated by means of the rotating shaft and the heavy plastic pieces HP such as PET pieces and PS pieces on the inner face side of the rotating cylinder sinking in the liquid are separated from the outlet close to the apex of the tapered part by means of a spiral body with a large diameter being close to the inner face of the rotating cylinder on one end side rotated by means of the rotating shaft.
