PURPOSE: To enable operation of a logical analyzer just like an oscilloscope, by introducing a sec.-per-graduation control and a delay adjustment control.

CONSTITUTION: This user interface employs two oscilloscope-like adjustment controls in place of adjustment controls of six logic analyzers. Under adjustment controls for sampling cycle and power factor are replaced with a sec.-per- graduation control. User adjustment controls for magnify-about action, a magnify-about marker motion, starting/centering/ending and hardware delay are replaced with a delay adjustment control. When a user adjusts sec-per- graduation, software is used to adjust cycle and power factor automatically. Likewise, when the user adjusts a delay in starting/centering/ending and hard ware delay, the adjustment of the delay is performed automatically by a soft ware in an invisible manner. Finally, this eliminates adjustment controls for the magnify-about action and magnify-about marker motion in substance as power factor is adjusted automatically via sec-per-graduation adjustment.
