Abstract:

To industrially utilize carbon nanotubes obtained from waste tires to take advantages of their characteristics.

Since carbon nanotubes obtained from waste tires contain additives added for improving mechanical characteristics of tires, they are applicable to usage conditions requiring strength. They also have an advantage of favorable adhesion performance in junction with material for clutch discs and brake pads. Since characteristics of additives can be effectively utilized without deteriorating heat resistance and abrasion resistance that carbon naturally has, it is more useful than conventional materials, and products can be provided at low cost. By crystallizing the carbon as necessary, it can be used as material of still higher strength. It is used as it is sintered and welded with metal or the like.
