Abstract:

To obtain an iron raw material free from defect of prior art and used for producing iron oxide pigment by iron-dissolution method.

This method for utilizing a synthetic iron raw material rich in bainite and used for producing iron oxide pigment by iron dissolution method comprises reacting an iron raw material rich in bainite with an oxidizing agent and forming iron oxide or iron hydroxide or their mixture in an acidic aqueous solution. The synthetic iron raw material has ≥50wt.% bainite content and 0.5-100mm average particle diameter.
