To improve impact resistance of blocks of a V-belt for high-load transmission.
In the V-belt B for high-load transmission, a plurality of blocks 10 are arranged so as to be located in a belt length direction and each of them is held by an endless tension band 20, and both side surfaces 11 of the plurality of blocks 10 constitute a pulley contact surface. Each of the plurality of blocks 10 has a metal reinforced material 13 and a resin coated layer 14 formed out of a carbon short fiber reinforced resin where a carbon short fiber is added to a matrix resin provided so as to cover the metal reinforced material 13 and to form the both side surfaces 11 which constitute the pulley contact surface. The carbon short fiber contained in the carbon short fiber reinforced resin which forms the resin coated layer 14 is oriented in a vertical direction on the respective both side surfaces 11 of the plurality of blocks 10.
