To avoid unfavorable condition due to reinforcing cloth and improve durability of a V-belt by providing a coating layer made of pasted rubber on the upper face of the reinforcing cloth on the upper face of a tension belt.

In this V-belt, many blocks 8, 8,... are lockingly fixed to a pair of both side endless tension belts 1, 1 at regular pitch intervals in the lengthwise direction of the belts. For the purpose, many upper face grooves 6,6,... and lower face grooves 7,7,... as locking parts are respectively provided on the upper and lower faces of the respective tension belts 1 at regular pitch intervals in the lengthwise direction of the belts. In the each tension belt 1, the upper face of a shape keeping layer 2 made of a rubber elastic body is covered with upper canvas 4 as reinforcing cloth. After the upper canvas 4 is treated for adhesion to the shape keeping layer 2, a coating layer made of pasted rubber is provided on the upper face. The coating layer of pasted rubber effectively disperses the fluctuating force of the respective blocks 8, and hardly generates abrasion of the upper canvas 4.
