Abstract:

PURPOSE: To form a V-type diesel engine in a compact manner, to reduce a cost, and to improve flexibility by a method wherein a cam for suction and exhaust and a cam for driving a fuel injection pump are arranged on one and the same cam shaft between V-type cylinders, and a fuel injection pump device and a governor device are arranged on the opposite crank shaft side of the cam shaft.
CONSTITUTION: In a V-type diesel engine wherein cylinders HL and and HR are arranged in a V-shape as seen from a front, a cam for suction and exhaust and a cam for driving fuel injection pump are arranged on one and the same cam shaft 1 between the V-type cylinders, and a fuel injection pump device and a governor device G are arranged on the opposite crank shaft side of the cam shaft 1. The push rods of right and left cylinders and fuel injection nozzles 26 and 27 are arranged between the V-type cylinders. This constitution, through, in a conventional arts, the two shafts of a cam shaft for fuel injection and a cam shaft for a suction and exhaust valve are arranged, constitutes the two cam shafts in a single cam shaft 1 and reduces height of the engine.
