Abstract:
In a V-type engine for a vehicle having a front bank (BF) and a rear bank (BR), a valve operating device for operating the engine valves, a valve stop mechanism (36) for stopping the operation of the engine valves according to an operational condition of the vehicle, and an actuator (37) for driving a throttle valve, it is an object of the present invention to ensure the capacity of an air cleaner (11) and a fuel tank by reducing the height of at least one of the front bank (BF) and the rear bank (BR) or the height of the front bank (BF) in particular. The valve stop mechanism (36) is provided in either the front bank (BF) or the rear bank (BR), and the actuator (37) provided in one of the front bank (BF) and the rear bank (BR) excluding the valve stop mechanism (36) is lower in height than the actuator (37) provided in the other of the front bank (BF) and the rear bank (BR) including the valve stop mechanism (36).
