Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent insufficient transmission of a pressure inside of a VVT device due to leakage of an oil in actual use, caused by difference in thermal expansion, in particular, in a case when a plastic material is combined with metal in an oil seal assembly of the VVT device.SOLUTION: A rotor body includes a main body 1 composed of fiber-reinforced polymer material, a cam shaft extended from a front face to a back face of the rotor body, or a metallic central part having a bolt hole to be fixed to the cam shaft, a dynamic seal element (i) at a vane tip engaged with a stator housing, and dynamic seal elements (ii) 15 at a front side and a back side engaged with a front cover and a back cover. The dynamic seal elements (i) and (ii) are made of non-reinforced plastic material, and the metallic central part includes a plurality of projection parts projecting into the fiber-reinforced polymer material, and/or a plurality of holes filled with the fiber-reinforced material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
