To improve detection accuracy for detecting whether a seat is available for a user or not.SOLUTION: A vacant seat detection device 2 comprises a detection unit 20 for detecting vacant seat information related to availability of a seat. The detection unit 20 has a sensor 21 for detecting the existence of a person in a detection object range in a non-contact manner. The sensor 21 is fixed to a seat.
