To provide a vacuum carburizing furnace in which carburizing of a tray on which the object to be treated is placed is prevented, and its service life is remarkably prolonged.
In the continuous carburizing furnace, the object to be treated is placed on a tray 1, and is transported from a front chamber 41 and a heating chamber 42 into a carburizing chamber 43 by a transport roller 61, and further, the object to be treated after carburizing treatment is placed on tray 1, and is transported from the carburizing chamber 43 to a gas cooling chamber 44. The tray 1 is made of a C/C composite. The inside of the front chamber 41 is provided with far-infrared heaters 411 and 412 heating the tray 1 to a temperature at which oil impregnated into the C/C composite is evaporated.
