To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of enabling a user to recognize a filter mounting failure by a simple configuration.SOLUTION: A vacuum cleaner includes a driving device 10 that accommodates an electric blower and a dust collecting device. The driving device 10 includes a dust collecting device mounting part 12 for detachably mounting the dust collecting device, a first ventilation port for introducing dust containing air inside the dust collecting device, a second ventilation port to which air from which dust from the dust collecting device is separated is introduced, an exhaust port 11e1 communicated with the second ventilation port, a filter 50 detachably provided to the second ventilation port, and a third ventilation port 53b1 that can be communicated with the second ventilation port. When the electric blower is driven in a state that the dust collecting device is mounted to the driving device 10 to which the filter 50 is not mounted, ambient air flows into the driving device 10 from the third ventilation port 53b1 without passing through the dust collecting device, and is discharged to the outside through the electric blower so that suction force to a surface to be cleaned weakens and a user can notice a failure to mount the filter 50.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
