PURPOSE: To obtain a lightweight and thin vacuum container by providing multiple box type back plates made of metal on the back of a front plate, and providing a pressure difference between multiple vacuum chambers formed by multiple back plates.
CONSTITUTION: Electrode body structures including external extracting terminals are arranged on the back of a front plate 1 made of a transparent glass plate, and a back plate 2 and a back plate 3 are hermetically connected to the back periphery of the front plate 1 to obtain the vacuum container of a display device. Evacuation pipes 4, 5 for independently exhausting multiple vacuum chambers 6, 7 are provided on the back plates 2, 3, a pressure difference is provided between multiple vacuum chambers 6, 7, thereby the atmospheric pressure can be separately applied to respective back plates 2, 3. The lightweight and thin vacuum container of a display device can be obtained.
