Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the title furnace, in which an installation floor area is small, a tilting device is not necessitated, the airtight property of a tapping device is secured sufficiently and molten metal is tapped through the tapping hole of the bottom of a crucible into atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: An induction furnace 14, consisting of a crucible 11 and the like, is installed in an airtight cylindrical furnace frame 6 with bottom and reserves molten metal 5. The furnace frame 6 can be opened and/or closed by an upper lid 8 through a seal 7. The upper lid 8 is connected to a gas controller 10 which evacuates the inside of the furnace frame 6 or fills the inside with gas such as inert gas or the like. A tapping device 22, opening and/or closing a tapping hole 21, is attached to the tapping hole 21 provided so as to penetrate the furnace frame 6 and the bottom of the curcible 11 downwardly. A sealing device 24 is provided so as to cover a seal space 23 below the tapping device 22 while keeping the space in airtight. The sealing device 24 is separatable by a separating surface S while the seal space 23 communicates with the furnace frame 6 through a communication hole 25. The trunnions 6a of the furnace frame 6 are hung to elevate the frame 6 by an elevator. The sealing device 24 is put on a moving device 26. A casting mold 20 is arranged below the tapping hole 21.
