Abstract:
To provide a vacuum pump capable of performing more effectively a circulating motion of lubricant at a lubricant storage part.SOLUTION: A vacuum pump of this invention comprises a bearing 8 for supporting a shaft 10 to which a pump rotor is installed; a stationary component 100 installed at the shaft 10 and formed with a tapered surface 100a for use in supplying liquid lubricant to the bearing 8 by a centrifugal force; and a lubricant storage part 60 having a lubricant returning surface 601 where the lubricant discharged from the bearing 8 returns and a lubricant supplying surface 602 contacted to the tapered surface 100a and storing the lubricant. The lubricant storage part 60 is formed by a capillary structure having several fine clearances therein and constituted in such a way that a capillary force may become large in a range from the lubricant returning surface 601 to the lubricant supplying surface 602.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
