To provide a value medium processing device having compatibility with an existing value medium processing device, capable of processing a small IC coin and a coin.

The value medium processing device comprises: an IC coin path formed by a movable IC coin guide rail disposed continuously from a slot in which an IC coin rolls around, and a fixed IC coin guide rail formed substantially continuously from the movable IC coin guide rail; a coin path formed under the IC coin path continuously from the IC coin path near the slot, by a fixed coin guide rail in which an inserted coin rolls around; a magnet 334 disposed adjacent to the IC coin path near the slot; and an interlocking device 336 for drive-coupling the magnet with the movable IC coin guide rail. The interlocking device can be moved by being absorbed by the magnetic substance of the IC coin, and in conjunction with the absorption displacement, the movable IC coin guide rail is moved to the position where the IC coin path is formed.
