Abstract:

To provide an inexpensive compact value medium processor which processes IC coins and coins, and has compatibility with the existing value medium processor.

The value medium processor which discriminate authenticity of coins put in a common slot 114 for coins C and for IC coins 100 to sort them into acceptable coins and return coins through communication with the IC coins includes: a magnetic rail 118 inclined toward the front from an upper limb of the slot; a frontward-inclined IC coin rolling rail 122 arranged at a position distant by a distance at least larger than the diameter of a maximum-diameter coin at a lower part of the magnetic rail; and a coin passage 126 on which the coins fall with gravity within a range from the slot to the IC coin rolling rail.
