Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the operation disorder and breakage of a valve apparatus due to freezing by automatically leaving open a valve body through the deformation of a metal member made of shape memory alloy. CONSTITUTION:The edge part of a metal member 19 is installed onto a stay 21 inserted between two slits 20 installed so as to be opposed at the rear edge side of an operating shaft 16, and said stay 21 is installed onto a valve cover 18 together with a ring body 22 continuously installed to the stay 21. The rear edge side of the operating shaft 16 is connected to a solenoid, and attracted by the excitation of the solenoid, and a valve body 14 is opened against a spring 15. When a heater 23 is in electric conduction state in a cold region or in winter, the metal member 19 remains soft, but when the outside air temperature lowers close to freezing temperature after the use of a washing machine, the metal member 19 begins to transform, and the valve body 14 is opened against the urging force of the spring 15, and drainage is carried out, and the rested water is discharged to prevent freezing.
