To provide a valve device for a power steering having a compact centering device.
The valve device for the power steering comprises a pinion shaft stored in a housing, connected to a valve shaft through a torsion bar, and engaged with a rack bar connected to a steering wheel; a valve body integrally provided with the pinion shaft between the housing and the valve shaft, and selectively supplying hydraulic fluid supplied from an outside hydraulic source to a steering power cylinder according to the twisting amount of the torsion bat by relative rotations of the valve shaft; an engaging member provided so as to move in a diameter direction to either one side of the pinion shaft and/or a valve body or the valve shaft; a recessed portion provided on the other side of the pinion shaft and/or the valve body or the valve shaft, which the engaging member is engaged, and formed over a predetermined angle range in a rotating direction about a state that there is no twisting amount of the torsion bar; and an energizing member energizing the engaging member to the recessed portion side.
