To repeat a trial operation even if an individual specificity of a valve is generated or dispersion is generated by thermal expansion so as to control the valve in an optimal driving condition at the time of opening/closing of the valve by outputting a setting signal having a value corresponding to a deviation between a target valve driving condition which is set beforehand and a valve driving condition before one cycle for reducing the deviation.
This device is provided with an electromagnetic actuator 7 for individually driving an exhaust valve 1 and an intake valve in opening/ closing, a displacement sensor 4 as a condition detecting means for detecting displacement rates of the exhaust valve 1 and the intake valve, a driver 5 as a driving means for supplying current to the electromagnetic actuator 7, and a control means 6. Catch current value is corrected for reducing a deviation between maximum displacement speed before one cycle of the exhaust valve 1 and the intake valve and target valve displacement speed for each trial operation. It is thus possible to control the valve in an optimal driving condition at the time of opening/closing of the valve.
