PURPOSE: To readily make sure the open or closed state of even such a valve as is designed so that its handle is turned once or more.
CONSTITUTION: A transparent handle 9 is connected to a spindle 8 supported against a valve box 3, and an annular case 15 mounted coaxial with the spindle 8 is connected to the valve box 3 in such a way that it cannot rotate relative to the valve box 3. A spiral indicator 20 whose radius increases outwards in the radial direction is inserted into a storage chamber 19 inside the annular case 15, and the inner radial end 20a of the indicator 20 is connected to the handle 9. An annular indicating chamber 25 is provided between the end plate 17 of the annular case 15 and the handle 9, and is allowed to communicate to with the storage chamber 19 by way of an entrance 26 provided in the end plate 17. When the handle 9 is rotated the outer radial end 20b of the indicator 20 in the storage chamber 19 passes through the entrance 26 and advances into the storage chamber 25.
