Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make an intake/exhaust valve suitable for practical use while having good durability and reliability together with function of a glow plug. CONSTITUTION:In an engine which takes fuel injected from a fuel injection nozzle into a combustion chamber 3, an intake/valve 1 opens/closes communication between the combustion chamber 3 and an intake port 4. The intake valve 1 is formed with a valve body 5 consisting of an umbrella part 6 and a shaft part 7. The shaft part 7 is guided reciprocating-slidably by a shaft guide member 8 in order to place the valve body 5 in opening/closing-operation. A heat pipe 9 is buried inside the valve body 5 in order to heat fuel injected from the fuel injection nozzle by means of the valve body 5. A heater 10 is buried in the shaft guide member 8, and heat energy from the heater 10 is transferred to be supplied to the heat pipe 9 through a sliding range formed between the shaft part 7 and the shaft guide member 8. It is thus possible to form the intake valve 1 in the same appearance structure as a normal intake valve basically, so that the member of a lead wire or the like may be free from exposure to the intake port 4.
