Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a cam shaft phase variable device by a simple constitution, and to reduce a manufacturing cost.SOLUTION: A radially-penetrating penetration hole is formed at a cam shaft, an engagement shaft formed with a protrusion having a plane part at an axial end is made to penetrate the penetration hole, the protrusion plane-contacts with and is engaged with an engagement groove having a plane part which is arranged so as to oppose an internal peripheral face of a guide member, the guide member also moves to a direction in which the guide member separates from a driven member in an axial direction of the cam shaft accompanied by the movement of a centrifugal weight to the outside of a radial direction by the action of a centrifugal force while being guided by the guide groove, thereby the guide member is relatively displaced to a rotation direction and the axial direction with respect to the driven member, and a phase of the cam shaft in the rotation direction with respect to the crank shaft is relatively changed. Therefore, since connection between the cam shaft and the guide member becomes simple in a constitution, a manufacturing cost of a cam shaft phase variable device (or a valve gear) can be reduced.
