Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a gap in valve lift timing without extending a distance between a pair of valve stems in a valve gear to which a roller-type tappet is applied.SOLUTION: In a valve gear of an internal combustion engine, a roller-type tappet (21) is pushed by a cam to reciprocate, and a valve spring (32) pushed down by opposing the resilience of the valve spring (32) allows one roller-type tappet (21) to open a pair of intake valves (16). The valve spring (32) includes a different diameter spring of which a diameter on a side of the tappet (21) is smaller than a diameter on a side of the intake valve (16). Viewing from the axial direction of valve stems (16a, 16b), a contact part (36c) of the tappet (21) and the cam is arranged in the center between the pair of valve stems (16a, 16b).
